International Space Station

The International Space Station (ISS) is a modular space station that orbits Earth, serving as a microgravity and space environment research laboratory. It is jointly operated by multiple space agencies, including NASA (United States), Roscosmos (Russia), ESA (European Space Agency), JAXA (Japan), and CSA (Canada). The ISS provides a platform for scientific research, technology development, and international cooperation in space exploration. It facilitates experiments across various fields such as biology, human biology, physics, astronomy, and meteorology, contributing to our understanding of life in space and the effects of long-duration spaceflight on the human body. The ISS is often visible from Earth as a bright object in the night sky and has been continuously inhabited since November 2000. It represents a significant achievement in human spaceflight and collaboration among nations.
