Anthropology

Anthropology is the scientific study of humanity, encompassing the examination of human behavior, cultures, societies, and biological aspects throughout history and in contemporary contexts. It aims to understand the diverse ways in which people live, interact, and relate to one another and their environments. Anthropology is typically divided into several subfields, including cultural anthropology, which focuses on social customs and practices; archaeological anthropology, which studies past human societies through material remains; linguistic anthropology, which examines the relationship between language and culture; and biological or physical anthropology, which explores the biological and evolutionary aspects of humans. Through various methodologies, such as participant observation, ethnography, and comparative analysis, anthropologists seek to gain insights into the complexity of human experience, emphasizing both the shared traits and unique variations among different groups.
