teleskop James Webb

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is a large, space-based observatory developed through a collaboration between NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA), and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA). It is designed to observe the universe in infrared wavelengths, allowing it to see distant celestial objects that are too faint or cool to be observed by other telescopes, such as the Hubble Space Telescope. The JWST has a segmented primary mirror measuring 6.5 meters in diameter, which gives it the capability to gather more light and provide higher resolution images. It aims to explore a range of astronomical phenomena, including the formation of stars and planets, the evolution of galaxies, and the understanding of the early universe. The telescope was launched on December 25, 2021, and functions at a location known as the second Lagrange point (L2), approximately 1.5 million kilometers from Earth, providing a stable environment for observation without the interference of Earth’s atmosphere.
